CATF SNEAK PREVIEW FUNDRAISER FEATURING ACTOR LEE SELLARS
Support CATF and get a sneak peek at the upcoming repertory



[February 15, 20078] Shepherdstown, West Virginia– Hungry for a taste of the Contemporary American Theater Festival’s 2008 season? Thinktheater and Thinkfive as CATF provides a sampling of their upcoming season at their Sneak Preview Fundraiser on March 8, 2008. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be followed by performances by CATF favorite, Lee Sellars, and Shepherd University student Chris Boykin, with guest appearances by community leaders. "Those who support CATF are helping the vibrant arts community in the Eastern Panhandle thrive. This fundraiser will be a benefit for CATF and a celebration of our relationship with Shepherd University,” stated Peggy McKowen, associate producing director for CATF. “We are so pleased that our friend Lee Sellars will be participating in this exciting event.”
 
An active CATF contributor for many years, Lee Sellars has performed in previous CATF productions, including The God of Hell, Flag Day and Rounding Third.  “I can’t think of anyone that I would rather work for than Ed Herendeen,” stated Sellars. “I’m happy to have the opportunity to help CATF.  I’ve been lucky with what I’ve done at CATF over the years. The organization and the town are so kind and open.” Sellars has played roles in a number of films and television shows, such as Law & Order, The Sopranos, Third Watch, The Black Donnelleys, and ER.
 
Chris Boykin previously worked as an acting intern for CATF and was invited back for a role in Shepherd University’s production of Streamers. He then decided to pursue formal training and enrolled at Shepherd University, since then starring in the school’s productions of Jesus Hopped the “A” Train, The Shape of Things, and McReele. Along with Sellars and Boykin, local leaders - including Tripp Lowe of the Clarion Hotel, Dr. Suzanne Shipley, president of Shepherd University, CATF Trustee Skip Adkins, Maria Lorensen from The Martinsburg Journal, and Jason Aufdem-Brinke of The Nora Roberts Foundation - will provide a preview of five plays in this year’s repertory: The Overwhelming by J.T. Rogers, Pig Farm by Greg Kotis, A View of the Harbor, a world premiere by Richard Dresser, Stick Fly by Lydia R. Diamond, and WRECKS by Neil LaBute. The Sneak Preview Fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 8 beginning at 7:00 pm in the Studio Theater at Sara Cree Hall at Shepherd University. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by calling 304-876-3304.
