Working with the sound designer in each space, Sound Engineers will meet the sound needs of assigned space to allow two shows in rotating repertory to occur. This will include setup and patching of mixing console, FX racks, amps, speakers (both House and FX), SFX interface, and system ring out. If live mics are used, testing and ringout for those as well. During the run of the show, Sound Engineer will run SFX Playback and any live mic needs that occur during the show. This position is a Change Over Crew position and will assist first in the change over needs of the sound equipment, then assist in the general changeover requirements. This position is a Strike Crew Position and is responsible for first striking and restoring all sound equipment, then joining in the general festival strike.
Engineers will maintain their own budget and spending as needed for the production. This position reports to the Production Manager and is fairly autonomous in its execution.
Job Requirements
-Must be able to work comfortably on an 8’ Stepladder
-Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
-Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with SFX Standard or better
-Must have a minimum of 2 years of live sound setup and mixing experience
-Must have a solid knowledge of PC’s running Windows XP Professional and peer to peer networking of two computers
-Must be able to digitally edit using Sound Forge 6.0 or better or be able to provide a comparable editing program on self-supplied laptop

CATF uses Window’s XP Pro or Vista Pro PC’s. Employees of CATF are expected to be competent in the use of standard Microsoft programs (Windows, Excel, Word, Explorer, Media Player) Specific Departments will require skills in different programs. CATF does not offer support of Macintosh Computers or systems or Linux based PC’s. Employees using these computers are welcome to bring their own, but there will be no on site tech support for them, and all company work done on them must be able to interface with company PC’s.
