Electrics Supervisor (Master Electrician)
Works with the Lighting Designers, Production Electrics Manager, Electricians, Interns and Apprentices to meet the Lighting needs of the Festival. This position will work with one other LX staff member in one of the two spaces primarily, but the entire crew will work together to meet the entire Festival’s lighting needs. Managers will work together to meet the season’s lighting needs within budget. This position is a run crew, maintenance crew, changeover crew, and strike crew position. This position maintains the budget for the department.
Job Requirements
-Must be able to maintain a budget using a declining balance spreadsheet or similar accounting method.
-Must be able to work comfortably and quickly on a 12’ Stepladder, 32’ Man Lift (Genie Lift) and scaffolding
-Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds
-Must have a solid knowledge of alternating current in voltages and configurations standard to theaters located in the US
-Must have a sold understanding of latest NEC 2005 or better procedures and regulations, specifically articles 518, 520 and 525
-Must have a solid knowledge of PC’s running Windows XP Professional
-Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with Lightwright and Vectorworks and /or AutoCADD
CATF uses Window’s XP Pro or Vista Pro PC’s. Employees of CATF are expected to be competent in the use of standard Microsoft programs (Windows, Excel, Word, Explorer, Media Player) Specific Departments will require skills in different programs. CATF does not offer support of Macintosh Computers or systems or Linux based PC’s. Employees using these computers are welcome to bring their own, but there will be no on site tech support for them, and all company work done on them must be able to interface with company PC’s
