My Name is Rachel Corrie, from the writings of Rachel Corrie, edited by Alan Rickman and Katherine Viner, is drawn from the diaries of a young woman from Washington state who tragically lost her life in Gaza. The voice revealed in this story is powerfully direct. Poignant and timely, intimate and strikingly immediate, My Name Is Rachel Corrie captures the political curiosity and passionate commitment of a very recognizable American woman who seeks to find understanding in one of the most turbulent conflicts in the world.

Rachel Corrie was born in Olympia, Washington, on April 10th, 1979. Before completing her studies at Evergreen State College in Olympia, she joined other foreign nationals working for the International Solidarity Movement in Gaza on January 25th, 2003.
